July 2014 / Planning application submitted to Powys County Council

A planning application for Hendy Wind Farm has been submitted to the counci and has been assigned the planning reference number P/2014/0672.

Hendy Wind Farm Ltd has consulted extensively with the local community ahead of submitting the planning application. Feedback from local residents and community groups has been carefully considered and we are very grateful to everyone who took the time to contribute to the consultation.

The planning application will be considered by the Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way Committee and a decision is likely to be made in autumn 2014. If planning permission is granted, construction is likely to begin in early 2015 and the turbines will be start producing clean, safe energy later in the year.

Although the application has been submitted, Hendy Wind Farm Ltd still wants to hear your feedback on the proposals.

We are currently undertaking a series of local meetings to explore how the community fund can be administered by local people. Please contact us to give us your views.

The initial scheme has been amended in response to the issues raised and we are now in the process of finalising assessment of the scheme prior to the submission of a planning application to Powys County Council in the early part of 2014.

An additional presentation of the amended scheme was given to members of Penybont Community Council on Wednesday, 13th November, also attended by delegates from New Radnor Community Council. The presentation can be viewed by clicking on the following link:
